Many people dream of a beautiful white-toothed smile, which is often referred to as a "Hollywood" smile. But this expression itself came about thanks to veneers - thin plates that are placed on the teeth. They mask AESTHETEic defects, help to attract people, feel confident in front of an audience.
Who needs veneers?
Such overlays are necessary for everyone who wants to look attractive. They do not correct cosmetic flaws such as an unsightly enamel shade, crooked teeth or small cracks in the enamel, but only hide them.
They are especially often used by those who are the focus of other people's attention. These are:
- Actors, other representatives of show business;
They are usually placed on the frontal group of teeth. It is possible to cover all the front dental units or only part of them. The number of plates depends on the individual characteristics of the patient, his wishes.
Types of veneers
Overlays are divided into several groups:
- by the method of installation;
- on the material from which they are made - it is ceramic or photopolymer composite, less often used sodium desilicate or mixtures based on glass-ceramic.
These groups are related to each other. Direct placement is only possible for composite veneers. This is due to the fact that the creation of onlays, as well as their fixation is performed directly in the dental office. The doctor uses a resinous photopolymer material from which fillings are usually made. He applies it layer by layer to the surface of the teeth right in the patient's mouth.
The indirect method is available with microprostheses made of any material, but is usually used if the onlays are made of ceramic. In this case, the dentist first takes impressions of the patient's teeth. Then the technician in the laboratory on them creates plates, which are first tried on, and then installed.
Separately it is necessary to mention lumineers. These are ultra-thin onlays, which are installed without preliminary grinding. But because of the thickness of 0.2 mm, they are able to hide only small defects, so they are not suitable for masking severely darkened enamel.
Ceramics or porcelain, which are used for the manufacture of veneers, is a super-strong material. It reflects light in a special way, mimicking natural enamel with the utmost conviction. The microprostheses made of it are always fitted using the indirect method.
- excellent AESTHETEic characteristics - microprostheses have the shade of natural enamel, pleasantly shiny;
- smooth surface, which does not accumulate bacterial plaque;
- perfect fit, thanks to which there is no discomfort, diction disorders;
- perfect biocompatibility;
- painless installation - if no grinding is required;
- long service life - up to 10-12 years, and with proper care and good circumstances, the period increases to 15 years.
With the traditional installation technique, pre-trimming of the teeth is required. This is not very pleasant and also quite painful procedure.
At AESTHETE we use a patented technology called Magicneers, which allows us to place veneers without any preliminary grinding. This helps to save time and avoid unpleasant, painful sensations. The appearance, reliability of installation, durability of the products are at the top.
The price of ceramic micro prosthesis is higher than composite ones. For their installation will require at least two visits to the doctor.
Such plates are installed on the teeth by direct and indirect methods. The indirect installation saves time - this is a good option for those who want to get a beautiful white smile inexpensively, with minimal time spent. But composite onlays have disadvantages:
- they don't last as long as ceramic ones - usually 4 to 7 years;
- well absorb coloring pigments from food or beverages, tobacco, because of this they change color;
- not very durable;
- - usually require grinding to fit.
What are the advantages of veneers?
Modern dentistry makes it possible with the help of veneers to quickly get rid of visual defects of teeth. Their key advantages are:
- natural appearance;
- long service life - depends on what material they are made of, as well as on proper care;
- durability, reliability, good resistance to staining - this applies especially to ceramic products;
- good protection of the teeth from external irritants and mechanical influences;
- easy care
- rejuvenating effect - a person with a beautiful snow-white smile visually looks younger;
- bite correction - plates are used to eliminate AESTHETEic effects, but if there are small problems with the bite, they are able to correct this as well.
For each patient, micro prostheses are selected individually. You can choose the shade of tooth enamel that you particularly like.
Which teeth should be fitted with veneers and when they are needed
Veneers are usually placed on the front teeth, as they are the ones that are visible from the outside when a person is talking or smiling.
This restoration is only available for healthy dental units. If they are partially destroyed, they have cavities, poorly preserved fillings, installation is not performed.
AESTHETEic flaws that can be hidden in this way are:
- gray or yellowish shade of enamel, which looks ugly and is not eliminated by conventional office whitening;
- cracks, fluorosis stains on the enamel;
- chipping of the incisal edge;
- traces of old restorations using composite material;
Plates are used to hide the irregular shape of one or more teeth. But if the patient has many dental units with anatomically imperfect shape, it is better to use another method of correction.
Stages of veneers
At the AESTHETE Clinic, veneers can be placed in three visits to the dentist, provided that the condition of the teeth is good. If it is far from ideal, a preparatory stage will be necessary.
The work begins with a comprehensive diagnosis, the purpose of which is to get a general idea of the oral cavity and to exclude contraindications.
Before installation, it is important to ensure oral hygiene. It is necessary to cure caries and other diseases, to conduct professional cleaning, during which dental deposits and pathogenic microflora are removed.
Photo session, veneers color selection
During the portrait photo session, a camera with a macro lens is used. The obtained images are studied by the doctor together with the patient. At this stage it is necessary to:
understand what defects need to be corrected;
determine the shade of the plates - it can be dazzling white or correspond to the natural shade of the enamel of the patient, using a special color scale.
Impressions are necessary in order to create onlays that will fit well. In AESTHETE clinic veneers are installed without grinding, so taking impressions does not take a lot of time and is not accompanied by unpleasant sensations.
With the help of Wax-up technology, accurate wax models of the veneers are created. Thanks to them, you will see how your smile will look after the veneers are placed. At this stage, you can express additional wishes about the shape and color - the specialists will certainly take them into account when making permanent onlays.
Fabrication of veneers
The technician in the laboratory makes veneers in accordance with pre-prepared models. The work is done manually and takes 14 days. Since no retouching is required for installation, there is no need to install and wear temporary onlays.
This is the last stage where the doctor fixes the plates to the patient's teeth. He uses a special compound with high adhesion abilities, so the tooth and the onlay become one and the same. The patient leaves the clinic with a new smile, which will delight others.
Care of veneers
Caring for them is simple. They are cleaned as usual, twice a day, morning and evening, and both times - at least two minutes. It is desirable to use a brush with soft or ultra-soft bristles for this purpose. You will also need:
floss or irrigator - with their help interdental spaces are well cleaned from the bits of food stuck in them;
rinse - needed to strengthen the gums and sensitive enamel.
It is necessary to periodically perform a professional cleaning in the dental office.
If the onlay is wobbly, moving away from the enamel, there are chips on it, see a doctor. He will assess its condition and tell you whether it is necessary to take measures.
AESTHETE Clinic offers services for veneers without grinding. We provide high quality without discomfort and pain and offer a guarantee.
